Katie Fellows recently sent us a collection of maps drawn by her 7-year-old son, Charlie. She writes, "He has a very visual mind, and his rote memorization of images and facts is pretty amazing. When you look at him work, you can almost see the mountain of imagery he has collected bouncing around in his mind. He quickly sifts through it and pours stuff out onto paper." Interestingly, the maps all show a series of delineations. In them, Charlie takes a large area such as the state of Maine and breaks it into smaller more manageable units. The first map shows states like Texas and Florida suspended inside a shape reminiscent of Maine, where Charlie lives. The remaining maps reference various places in Maine itself.
